Arrival by plane:
You can reach Freiburg either from the airports in Basel or Frankfurt.
From Basel airport the fastest connection is a taxi (45-60 min). Alternatives are an airport shuttle bus to Freiburg (Central Station / Hauptbahnhof, 60 min, 8 connections per day) or by commuting to Basel Central Station and using a train to Freiburg (more than 60 min).

From the railway station at Frankfurt airport you can take an ICE train connection leaving every 60 min in the direction of Freiburg. This convenient ride takes about 2 h 10 min. It is advisable to reserve seats on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons.

Arrival by train:
Leave the central station (Hauptbahnhof) following the signs to the bus and tram stop. Take the tram line 4 (direction Hornusstrasse) to the tram stop Robert-Koch-Strasse. Turn left and walk to Lehener Strasse. Turn right into this road and follow after 100 m the signs “Klinik für Tumorbiologie”. Alternatively, a ride with a taxi takes about 10 min.

Arrival by car:
Freiburg is usually approached from the A5 motor way (Autobahn).
Leave the Autobahn at exit Freiburg-Mitte, and follow the direction Stadtmitte (town center). Leave this highway (B31a) at the third exit indicating direction Universitätskliniken. Follow the signs to Universitätskliniken.
Alternative A (as on the map): Turn right into Sundgauallee at the second traffic lights after having passed the bridge over the B31a. After passing a bridge over a railway track and entering into a park area take a sharp turn left into Lehener Strasse (direction Tumorbiologie/ Arbeitsamt). Turn right at the first street following the signs to Tumorbiologie. Turn left again to enter the Tumor Biology Center parking area.
Alternative B: Continue to the third traffic light after passing the bridge and turn right into Lehener Strasse (30 km/h speed limit!). After ca. 600 m a sign on the left will direct you to the Tumorbiologie. Turn left into that road and left again to enter the Tumor Biology Center parking area.

After parking your car after about 100 m in the car park, please ask for a parking permit (Parkbescheinigung) at the Center´s reception and place it well visible inside your car.
