ProQinase's Drug Discovery Products & Services are uniquely designed for drug development targeting protein kinases in cancer and other therapeutic areas. In oncology one particular focus is the performance of angiogenesis assays. Presently the following products and in vitro and in vivo services are available:

• Recombinant Protein Kinases & Substrates:
  ProQinase offers in-house produced recombinant protein kinases for activity assays. Currently more than 180 protein kinases are available as off-the-shelf products. In addition, kinases can also be produced as custom-tailored enzymes according to your requirements. Moreover, ProQinase offers recombinant substrates for in vitro kinases activity assays.
  Kinases as well as substrates are produced in large lots to guarantee long term supply of identical quality. Every new lot of our recombinant proteins has to pass an extensive quality control prior to release.
  

• In vitro Kinase Assay Services:
  ProQinase offers different types of compound testing in in vitro assays. Our highly flexible custom tailored in vitro Kinase Assay Services includes high throughput screening (HTS) of large compound libraries against one target, and selectivity profiling against several or all kinases which are available at ProQinase. Testing can be performed either as single concentration measurements or as IC50 determinations.
  In addition to custom-tailored projects the ProQinase WholePanelProfiler allows to profile against the whole panel of protein kinases (currently 320).
  The KinaseFinder is offered as a standardized service package which enables to identify protein kinases that phosphorylate a protein or peptide of interest.
   
  
• Cellular Assay Services:
  Currently ProQinase offers three types of cellular assays to characterize compounds on the cellular level. The first type comprises cellular phosphorylation assays to assess the inhibitory effect of compounds on a special kinase. The second type is a differential cytotoxicity assay performed with arrested and proliferating cells in parallel allowing identification of compounds interacting with the cell cycle. The third type is a spheroid-based angiogenesis assay to evaluate the angiogenic or anti-angiogenic potential of compounds. In all types of assays testing can be performed in screening mode (using only one or a few concentrations of the test compounds) or as IC₅₀ determination.
  

• In vivo Tumor and Angiogenesis Models:
  ProQinase has established a large panel of subcuteanous xenografts and orthotopic in vivo tumor models. Most orthotopic tumor studies are performed with luciferase transfected tumor cell lines allowing bioluminescene imaging. ProQinase's unique spheroid-based in vivo angiogenesis assay allows determination of the anti-angiogenic effect of compounds or antibodies against functional human blood vessels in mice.
  
  
• Clinical Biomarker Analysis:
  ProQinase has established several biomarker assays to determine different biomarker proteins in serum or plasma samples derived from clinical trials.
